An
unforgettable experience for outdoor and nature
lovers.
Nuwerust Rest Camp is situated in the Breëkrans
river valley, surrounded by majestic southern
Cederberg mountains.
Situated a close 20 minutes drive from the walks and
climbs of the Maltese Cross, Wolfberg Arch, Stadsaal
Caves and Bushman paintings, the start of the
Wupperthal 4x4 drive, observatory and the Cederberg
Wines Cellars, our farm is ideally located.
Our fully equipped S/C cottages are ideal for the
outdoor enthusiast. Each one has its own bathroom
and braai area. Heating-fireplaces or oil-burning
heaters for those cold winter nights. Bedding on
request. Satellite DSTV
available at the Lapa for those important
sport events.
Communal Lapa with Braai, music and bar facilities.
History: Nuwerust has been in the Esterhuizen family since 1876. Many of the original trees, including a row of pear trees and a 132 year old vine which has the thickest stem in the Clanwilliam district, can still be seen. The farm has buildings of historical significance dating from the late nineteenth century. These include the original mill and the Blacksmith's workshop with a "Blaasbalk" (bellows) still in a perfect working condition.
No pets, music and quad bikes allowed
